The difference between features and value

Feature lists describe what you built. Value describes what changes for the customer. Most B2B messaging never makes the translation.
Organizations that build genuinely good things tend to talk about how they were built. It is the part of the story the team lived. It is also the part the customer has the least context to evaluate.
Why teams default to features
Proximity. After enough years inside a category, the jargon stops sounding like jargon and the differentiators feel self-evident. The internal audience understands every word, so the message tests well internally and fails externally.
A practical translation
For every feature, state the problem it removes and the result it creates in language a customer would use in their own meeting. Keep the feature — technical buyers need it — but let it support the claim rather than make it.
The goal is not simpler products. It is lower effort for the customer to recognize relevance.
